Supporting Our Communities, One Tournament at a Time

Golf tournaments have become a familiar part of BBM’s calendar. While our team certainly appreciates the chance to spend a day on the course, the real value often comes from what surrounds the event itself.

These events bring together people from different organizations, backgrounds, and professions for causes that matter. Some support healthcare. Others help fund education, housing, or youth programs. Along the way, they provide a chance to reconnect with colleagues, spend time with clients, and support organizations that are doing important work throughout Central Florida.

Over the past several weeks, BBM has participated in several events that reflect those values.

Supporting Affordable Housing Through Habitat for Humanity

BBM proudly sponsored Hole #2 at the Homes Fore All Golf Tournament benefiting Habitat for Humanity.

The sold-out event helped raise funds that will support Habitat for Humanity’s efforts to provide affordable housing opportunities for families throughout the region. The organization’s work has helped thousands of individuals and families build stability through homeownership and access resources that create long-term success.

As a structural engineering firm, we understand the importance of creating spaces that improve lives. While our role typically begins with the design and construction process, Habitat for Humanity’s mission serves as a reminder of the impact housing can have long after a project is complete.

We were proud to play a small part in an event that helps more families take the path toward homeownership.

Supporting Healthcare Initiatives Through the AdventHealth Golf Classic

BBM team members Luis Bedoya, PE, Principal; Ariel Neris, PE, Principal; Nathan Morrow, PE, Associate & Senior Project Manager; and Richard Acosta, PE, Project Manager participated in the AdventHealth Golf Classic alongside supporters of AdventHealth Foundation.

This year’s tournament raised more than $217,000 to help expand healthcare services and programs that provide care and assistance to individuals and families throughout the community.

For the BBM team, the event also offered something simpler. It was a chance to step away from project schedules, spend time together outside the office, and enjoy some friendly competition. Days like these do not come around often, making them a welcome opportunity to connect as teammates while supporting a worthwhile cause.

A Day with Friends from DLR Group

BBM also participated in Trinity Preparatory School’s Golden T Classic Golf Tournament through the sponsorship of a foursome.

Representing BBM were Bora Erbilen, PE, President, and Nathan Morrow, PE, Associate, who shared a foursome with friends and colleagues Aranya Mom and Selene Ramirez-Barragan from DLR Group.

Having worked together on numerous projects over the years, it was enjoyable to spend a day together away from project meetings and deadlines. The tournament benefited Trinity Prep and its educational programs while providing a chance to catch up, enjoy the competition, and support a school that continues to play an important role in the community.

Investing in the Next Generation

BBM was also proud to serve as an Event Sponsor for the 16th Annual HKS Architects Orlando TopGolf Tournament, benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida.

Representing BBM were Bora Erbilen, PE, President; Luis Bedoya, PE, Principal; Ariel Neris, PE, Principal; and Nathan Morrow, PE, Associate & Senior Project Manager.

Hosted by HKS Architects, the annual event helps support programs that provide young people with mentorship, academic assistance, leadership development, and recreational activities. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida continue to serve as an important resource for children and families throughout the region.

The tournament also provided a chance to see familiar faces from across the architecture, engineering, and construction community. Between swings, conversations, and a little friendly competition, the event was a great reminder of how many people are committed to helping local youth succeed.

More Than a Day on the Course

Each of these events focused on a different cause, but all shared a common theme: people coming together to help strengthen their communities.

Whether supporting affordable housing, healthcare services, education, or youth programs, BBM is grateful for the opportunity to participate and contribute where we can. We appreciate the organizations that host these events and the many volunteers, sponsors, and participants who make them possible.

And yes, if that occasionally means spending a day on the golf course, we are happy to do our part.
