From Structures to Schools: Investing in Community Well-Being

BBM Structural continues to support local schools and life-saving initiatives with our latest CPR kit donation to Volusia County Schools’ University High School. BBM President Bora Erbilen, Construction Administrator Mark Matzinger, and Associate Karen Petersen delivered the kit, which will help train students in CPR and first aid—essential skills that can save lives.

Our fundraising efforts for this donation are part of American Heart Month, a cause deeply personal to BBM. With members of our own team directly affected by heart conditions, we take every opportunity to support heart health awareness and education. This initiative ensures that more students receive vital CPR training, which Florida public schools require every two years, starting in sixth grade. High school students in grades 9-11 must also receive CPR training as part of their education. This program has proven to be effective in emergencies, equipping young people with the confidence and skills to act quickly when needed.

We also take great pride in supporting education across Florida. Whether designing safe and resilient structures or supporting programs that make a difference, we believe in giving back in meaningful ways. By contributing to schools through our engineering expertise and community efforts, we continue strengthening our long-standing partnerships with the state’s public school system. Giving back is not just something we do—it’s part of who we are.
