Structural Progress in Motion: Daytona Beach Fire Station No. 1 Takes Shape

BBM Structural is excited to share a closer look at the progress underway at the City of Daytona Beach’s new Fire Station No. 1 and Administration Building, captured in a recent flyover video produced by the project architects. The footage showcases the precision and momentum of the construction phase—most notably, the ongoing tilt-up panel erection, a core element of the facility’s structural system.

Designed by JL2 Architecture in collaboration with PGAL and built by Wharton-Smith, this essential 25,000-square-foot facility will serve as both the city’s primary fire station and administrative headquarters. As the structural engineer, BBM is responsible for the full gravity and lateral design of the building—ensuring performance under essential facility code requirements while supporting critical operations.

The video highlights BBM’s coordinated approach to tilt-up panel design, where structural systems and sequencing were carefully planned to support both safety and construction efficiency. The clean lines, panel placement, and progress visible in the footage reflect the technical skill and attention to detail our team brings to every phase of the build.

We’re proud to collaborate with a strong project team and look forward to sharing additional updates as the station moves closer to completion.
