This project, designed by Song + Associates, supported by BBM Structural Engineering and other firms, involved the design and construction of a combined elementary and middle school campus on a single 21-acre site. The development houses a 948-student elementary school (136,100 sq. ft.) and a 1,480-student middle school (172,200 sq. ft.), totaling $55.5 million for both facilities. A key objective was maximizing shared infrastructure to increase efficiency and reduce the overall footprint. Shared elements include a central energy plant, a combined dining/multipurpose building, bus and parent drop-off loops, retention areas, after-hours parking, and a new entrance drive with traffic signal. This collaborative approach resulted in an estimated $2 million in savings and allowed for the creation of two excellent educational facilities on a smaller footprint than typically required. The project was featured on pages 56-57 in the November/December 2024 edition of American School & University – 2024 Architectural Portfolio as an Outstanding Design for Combined Level Schools.
