Florida Polytechnic University, Gary C. Wendt Engineering Building

Location:

Orlando, FL

Project Scope:

BBM Structural provided structural engineering services for the Gary C. Wendt Engineering Building, a new academic facility at Florida Polytechnic University, which focuses on expanding the school’s engineering and applied research programs. The two-story, 40,000-square-foot structure includes high-tech engineering labs, open collaboration spaces, faculty offices, and a central courtyard that connects the building to the existing Barnett Applied Research Center.

Located strategically between the BARC and the IFF Global Citrus Innovation Center, the building supports Florida Poly’s growing STEM mission and is named in honor of former trustee Gary C. Wendt, whose contributions have advanced the university’s development.

BBM’s structural scope included designing flexible lab layouts, accommodating heavy equipment loads, and supporting the building’s integration into the larger campus framework.
