Location:
Coconut Creek, FL
Project Scope:
BBM Structural provided structural engineering services for the Extra Space Self Storage facility located in Coconut Creek, Florida. The project consists of a four-story, limited-access storage facility totaling 163,054 square feet, designed with 10′ x 10′ column spacing on all elevated floors and 20′ x 20′ column spacing at the roof level.
The building envelope features tilt-up concrete wall panels supported on shallow bearing wall foundations. A structural mat slab supports the column loads. In addition to the main structure, the project includes a one-story, 3,553-square-foot pre-engineered open bay for RV storage.
This facility was selected as a recipient of the 2025 Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) Tilt-Up Achievement Award, recognizing its high level of execution in design, engineering, and tilt-up construction. As part of this distinction, the project will be featured in Tilt-Up Today magazine and recognized during the Tilt-Up Awards Gala at the 2025 TCA Convention in Nashville.
