Marking a Milestone: Ribbon Cutting for Volusia County Medical Examiner’s New Facility

BBM Structural was excited to be invited to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Volusia County Medical Examiner’s Building. This cutting-edge facility, a tilt-up masterpiece designed by the renowned architects at Schenkel Shultz and constructed by the accomplished builders at Wharton-Smith, represents the culmination of collaborative efforts among industry leaders. As structural engineers, we take pride in contributing to innovative designs that enhance the working environment for essential professionals in the vital field of death investigations.

The 20,000-square-foot facility, with a construction cost of $9,993,981.00, is a testament to advanced infrastructure, using natural light in 90% of the occupied space and showcasing our tilt-up expertise that allows us to build smart and still keep the designer’s unique perspective. This project showcases the successful collaboration of BBM Structural, Schenkel Shultz, and Wharton-Smith, which have consistently worked together to deliver outstanding results. We are honored to have played a role in this significant project, contributing to the advancement of public services and the well-being of our community. Congratulations to all partners involved in bringing this state-of-the-art facility to life.
