26 Jan BBM Backs Seminole County Schools Through Superintendent’s Circle Membership
As proud members of the Superintendent’s Circle, a leadership giving society organized by the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools, BBM Structural was pleased to attend the recent Breakfast and Career/Technical Program Tour hosted at Lyman High School.
BBM Associate Karen Petersen represented the firm at the event, connecting with district leadership, school board members, consultants, and community partners during a morning of meaningful dialogue with Superintendent Serita Beamon.
Following breakfast, attendees toured several of Lyman’s impressive Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, experiencing firsthand the skills being developed to meet the needs of today’s workforce:
-
-
-
- Culinary Arts
- Building Trades – including Welding and General Construction
- Automotive Maintenance
- Early Childhood Education

Seeing these programs in action reinforced the importance of industry-aligned training that supports both student success and workforce development. From technical skills to career readiness, these hands-on experiences are building a stronger future for Seminole County—and we’re proud to support that effort.
The Superintendent’s Circle plays a vital role in funding initiatives that impact every student across the district. Contributions support everything from classroom innovation to student support services, and BBM is honored to be part of a community that values strong schools as the foundation of a thriving region.
As structural engineers, we believe in building more than just physical spaces—we believe in building opportunity, access, and long-term impact. Supporting local schools is one of the most direct ways we can do that.
We thank The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools for hosting this event and for the important work they do year-round.
