Investing in the Relationships That Move Our Industry Forward

For more than 40 years, BBM Structural Engineers has built lasting relationships with architects, contractors, owners, and industry partners throughout Florida. Those relationships have grown through collaboration on projects, but they are also strengthened by supporting the organizations, educational programs, and community initiatives that bring our industry together.

Over the past several weeks, members of the BBM team participated in two events that reflect this commitment. While each had a different focus, both created opportunities to strengthen professional relationships while supporting meaningful causes.

On June 22, Project Manager Richard Acosta, PE, and Project Engineer Charles Thornton joined Justin Brower and Tony Kurtz of Wharton-Smith for the Galvan Legacy Foundation’s Wally’s Father’s Day Fiesta Golf Tournament at Eagle Creek Golf Club. The annual tournament honors the legacy of Wally, who was known throughout the Central Florida construction community for his generosity, mentorship, and passion for bringing people together. Today, the event continues that legacy by raising funds for charitable organizations that support cancer research, education, community development, and other important initiatives across Florida. Beyond the competition on the course, it served as an opportunity to reconnect with industry partners while supporting causes that make a meaningful impact.

Earlier that week, BBM proudly served as a sponsor of the 2026 AMFP Florida Health Summit at Streamsong Resort. Associate and Senior Project Manager Nathan Morrow, PE participated in the weekend’s golf tournament alongside Chris Bailey of BayCare Health, Yanick Dauphas of Gilbane, and Steve Smith of Gilbane before joining healthcare owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and industry leaders for a full day of educational programming. The summit featured presentations on behavioral health, strategic master planning, prefabrication, pediatric and women’s healthcare, and regional trends influencing the future of healthcare facilities. Bringing together professionals from across multiple disciplines, the event encouraged meaningful conversations around improving the environments where healthcare is delivered.

Although these events had different objectives, they shared a common purpose. They created opportunities to strengthen relationships with long-time partners, build new connections, and contribute to conversations and initiatives that benefit the communities we serve.

At BBM, those opportunities matter. They help us remain engaged with the industries we support, deepen the partnerships that have been built over decades, and continue delivering the thoughtful structural engineering solutions our clients have trusted since 1984.
